Agri finance is a specialized space that requires some insight to help get the right structure for the individual.
The good news is there are options!
As aspiring farmers, one of the biggest hurdles to getting your farm is getting the funding. Understanding the requirements of the banks can be a full-time job in itself!
Having an existing relationship can help, but that doesn’t mean your particular scenario fits into their banking policy.
You need to get on the front foot and have all your ducks lined up.
What do I mean by that? Spend a bit of time getting your information together. At a minimum, the banks want to see your Statement of position, your most recent tax returns, and cash flow projection.
This isn’t just good for the bank but good information for you as well. It will give you good oversight of your position, help you analyze the business and if it’s sustainable, and give the lender confidence you know what you’re talking about and have the experience to back it up!
Doing what I do as an Agribusiness finance broker, I know it’s not a one size fits all kind of thing!
I have worked with aspiring farmers to assist them in getting their farms and making their dreams a reality!
